Our dedicated Outreach Officer, Herbie, went down to the Mackay Farmers' Market today to grab a coffee from the newest Cow in the MAD Cow Coffee Mackay. 'Daisy' joins the Mad Cow herd ahead of the launch of their upcoming community initiative 'Project Engage'.
The role of the CASA Outreach officer is to connect and offer support to the most vulnerable in our community who are sleeping rough and homeless. It is also about connecting people to community and support services so that they feel supported and valued and know where they can seek specialist services.
The Mad Cow Coffee team not only serve up an amazing selection of coffee and treats, but they most importantly, offer a safe space for anyone to come and have a chat. Over the last 3 years, they have supported our local community by creating awareness, providing support and preventing suicide.
Congratulations to the Mad Cow Coffee team on the birth of 'Daisy'! Thank you for creating more awareness about a topic that we don't want to or find uncomfortable to talk about. We look forward to the launch of 'Project Engage and working together as a community to prevent suicide.
