From Crisis to stability

Every year in June, CASA host Together For Shelter!

A community event bringing together Mackay services, to help those in need.

Formerly known as Homeless expo

Since 2012, CASA has hosted what was previously known as the Homeless Expo - now referred to as Together for Shelter

This initiative connects people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness, with essential services to help them transition from crisis to stability.

CASA achieves this by hosting over 50 vendors in one space who can help connect you to Housing providers, Mental Health Services, Financial support, access to free food, essential giveaways for those sleeping rough, and so much more!

Location

Queens Park - Oval 1

A detailed layout of stalls will be provided closer to the date.
Best Entry for stallholders is Goldsmith Street and for the general public, via Gordon Street.
Venue has amenities, play equipment and seating.

Housing providers

We have a wide range of providers attend to provide information, no matter what your needs.

This includes rough sleepers, emergency/crisis accommodation, youth housing, transitional housing, community housing and long-term housing.

There will be information available for those at risk of homeless that need support in sustaining their tenancies.

health services

Your health is important and there are many services available from QLD Health including Dental, Breast and Bowel screen and the opportunity to get your free flu shot or a sexual health check up!
